Step 3: Log in to the client



Once the client is installed on the device, log in with the User profile you set up in the Comet Management Console

This will register the device on the Comet Management Console, and you will be able to start setting up your backups on the device, either from the Console or from the client.

Do note that users are the security boundary. Any device logged into a user can see and restore data from any other device. Register devices into different users when data should not be shared.

Refer to the Comet Backup usage guide for more information on what settings you can configure.

The next step is to start configuring backups (backups are called Protected Items).

After logging in to the client, you’ll find the device in the Comet Management Console registered under the User you logged in with, and you’ll be able to manage that device through the Comet Management Console.
