SECURITY NOTICE: This version of Comet Server fixes an important security issue related to administrator accounts. If you share your Comet Server with tenant administrators or limited-permission administrator accounts, we strongly recommend upgrading at the earliest possibility.

New Features

  • Adding two new email report templates: Recent Activity Report and Group Status Report (#1875 / #3587 / #4097)

Enhancements

  • Add guidelines for time boundaries when configuring an email report in the Comet Server web interface (#3587 / #4097)
  • Added validation to the Protected Item dialog in the Comet Backup desktop app, to stop empty Protected Items from being created (#4091)
  • If there is no Protected Item when opening the Comet Backup desktop app, automatically open up the new Protected Item dialog (#4091)

Bug Fixes

  • Fix an issue with the Comet Backup desktop app failing to run on Linux due to being unable to find the backup-tool binary (#4172 / #4167)
  • Fix an issue where manually deleting files or snapshots from a busy Storage Vault could result in a "Success" status with no action taken (#4161 / #4147)
  • Fix an issue with the COMET_FORCE_VSS_PROVIDER environment variable not taking effect in subprocesses (#3807 / #4168)
  • Fix an issue with suspended tenants and users continuing to send email reports (#3355 / #4132)
  • Fix an issue with a potential crash when creating an Office 365 Protected Item (#4091)
