· 2 min read

Changes compared to 20.8.3 and 20.9.0

New Features

  • Support new "Rebrand Storage" option on individual Storage Vaults, to prevent users from viewing the actual storage type
  • Support preconfiguring the Rebrand Storage option for new Storage Vaults created via the Request system

Enhancements

  • Change the "Restrict available Protected Item / Storage Vault types" policy to allow any existing admin-created items or Requested Storage Vaults
  • Add warning when saving a policy that prevents all Protected Item or Storage Vault types in the Comet Server web interface
  • Add warning when attempting to create a Protected Item or Storage Vault in the Comet Backup desktop app if no types are available either via policy or OS restrictions

Bug Fixes

  • Fix an issue with password parameters when using the AdminCreateInstallToken API
  • Fix an issue with deleting news items from the Comet Server web interface
  • Fix an issue with being unable to prevent using the Local Path Storage Vault type via policy
  • Fix an issue with optimizing the Comet Backup client app for Windows Defender during installation
  • Fix an issue with hiding cloud storage branding even for administrator users in the Comet Server web interface
  • Fix an issue with the "Prevent editing Storage Vaults" policy still allowing the edit dialog to be opened as read-only when logged in to the Comet Server web interface as an end-user. Preventing opening the dialog entirely makes the behaviour consistent with the Comet Backup desktop app.
  • Fix a cosmetic issue with missing animation for loading spinners inside the tree widget when choosing files to restore in the Comet Backup desktop app
